Highly spalted beech—locally sourced 25” x 25” (64 x 63 cm) top 18 “ (46cm) high

Beech was used by bodgers in the Chilterns to make chair legs. Normally a rather plain wood and chocolate brown in colour, it quickly spalts due to it being infected with varying fungi. The result is what you see here. |
